INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRUCK TOLL

In Switzerland, large goods vehicles and trailers weighing over 3.5 tonnes are liable for a levy determined by three factors:

  • The distance covered within Swiss borders
  • The maximum authorized weight
  • The emissions produced by the vehicle

Our permit enables payment of highway tolls in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and across Europe.

The Hungarian usage-based road system is overseen by NUSZ (National Toll Collection Service) and encompasses 6745 km of motorways and main roads. Freight vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes in gross vehicle weight must remit tolls, inclusive of 27% value-added tax (VAT).

Toll calculation in Hungary relies on the following parameters:

The toll calculation in Hungary is contingent upon the following factors:

  1. The distance covered in kilometers.
  2. The classification of the road used, which includes motorways and national roads.
  3. The count of axles on the vehicle.
  4. The vehicle’s category, delineated as follows: Category A (≥ EURO 5); Category B (EURO 2 to 4); Category C (≤ EURO 1).

Directir handles all your needs! Register today, and we’ll manage your enrollment on the Hungarian network. Enjoy the convenience of post-payment invoicing.

The Polish road network mandates tolls for all motorized vehicles exceeding 3.5 tons. Oversight is provided by the national operator SZEF KAS alongside three other private operators.

The toll system in Poland is a combination of methods:

  • “Accessible” via the e-Toll network facilitated by the On Bord Unit (OBU) system certified by Szef KAS
  • “Restricted” on the A1, A2, and A4 networks utilizing videotolling and DSRC technology

How is the toll calculated?

Toll calculation is based on the distance traveled, the vehicle’s weight, and its Euro pollutant class.

Covered net

  • A1 (Rusocin – Czerniewice)
  • A4 (Katowice – Cracóvia)
  • Rede E-Toll

The extensive network, spanning over 6,000 kilometers, is overseen by 25 motorway companies. Within this network, several toll systems are implemented.

  • The closed system features barriers at both entry and exit points of the journey. The journey’s cost is proportionate to the distance traveled.
  • In the open system, the cost of the journey is a fixed rate, regardless of the distance traveled.
  • The Free flow system guarantees toll collection without barriers, allowing vehicles to pass through without obstruction.

How is the amount calculated?

  • The number of kilometres travelled
  • The vehicle category
  • The tariff grid
  • The barrier system
  • The characteristics of the road

How does VAT work?

The toll network in Italy is subject to a VAT rate of 22%.

How are discounts calculated?

Discounts are determined based on toll transactions conducted throughout the entire calendar year, with eligibility criteria subject to change annually based on decisions made by the Italian state overseeing the discount program.

An additional 10 per cent discount may also apply to night-time transactions on certain networks.

The Consortium

To attain Italy’s toll turnover of 5 million euros, guaranteeing the most favorable discount rate, transport companies have organized themselves into a consortium.

The advantages of Axxès :

Join the Axxès Consortium :

  • All your Italian data (transactions, devices, invoices) accessible in your customer area

The German toll network is the largest in Europe. Goods vehicles with a total weight of more than 7.5 tonnes are subject to a charge.

The network is divided into several systems in which it can circulate:

  • The “LKW Maut” network includes more than 50,000 kilometres of roads and motorways
  • The Herrentunnel

Payment method :

You can pay in two ways:

  • Manually: by registering in advance on the Internet or at a motorway network terminal
  • Automatically: with a device fitted to your vehicle

How is the rate calculated?

The amount for vehicles ≥ 7.5 tonnes is calculated according to :

  • The weight of the rolling vehicle
  • The number of axles on the vehicle, including the trailer
  • The vehicle’s EURO class and the possible presence of a particulate filter (CRP/PMK document to be supplied)
  • The total number of kilometres travelled by the vehicle

The controls and risks of fines

Regular checks are carried out on the entire network in two ways.

  • Through gantries located throughout the road network
  • Through mobile teams from the B.A.G. (Federal Agency for Goods Transport)

The advantages of Axxès :

Axxès takes care of invoicing the German state for your journeys in Germany. With a single device that is easy to install and use, you can take advantage of the entire German motorway network.

In order to drive on Belgium’s 6500 km network (Viapass), goods vehicles with a maximum authorised weight of more than 3.5 tonnes are subject to a kilometre charge. This charge operates on the road networks of Belgium’s three regions (Wallonia, Flanders and Brussels-Capital) and requires each vehicle to carry an O.B.U. device.

The controls and risks of fines:

In the VIAPASS network, checks are carried out :

  • Through fixed gantries, located along the main roads, equipped with cameras and number plate recognition devices
  • Through mobile control cameras
  • Through control vehicles with authorised officers on board
